Around here flowers are always on our mind and we relish in the opportunity to bring color, joy and flowers to any occasion. Bring on Halloween! We were so excited to dream about how we could add the Haute touch to brighten up this often spooky holiday. We wanted to think of some fun ways to tackle this years costume conundrum using colors, party supplies and the flowers we have around the studio. We set out to make the happiest and brightest costume ideas around! Here are some of our favorites!

I mean, firstly, who can stand a mini Frida Kahlo and matching unibrowed dog pair? LOVE!

Frida Kahlo and her Dog

We could not help but smile when we look at this little darling adorned in her blooms from head to toe. The floral headpiece is stunning made from an artfully stacked pile of permanent blooms finished with her lovely floral scarf. And don’t forget the pup! The coordinating headband and unibrow is just everything.

Sweet Bee and her Flower Mama

We love the combination of a little DIY with a little “make your life easier and grab from the store kind of costume”. The darling bee costume can be purchased all around town - we love this one from Etsy where you can layer the darling yellow and black cuteness with some black tights and shirts you already have. Plus, for those of you who many be chilly, this is a perfect way to add some layers while keeping the cuteness. Then, for you, grab a green dress, some blooms and a glue gun and get to it! Finish with a fun floral crown and you are done!

Mary Poppins

Create this classic beloved character this season complete with floral hat and carpet bag. Start with a simple white shirt and black shirt and accessorize with red ribbon belt and coordinating bow tie. Grab a black hat, like this one on amazon, and place a few key blooms to make it come to life. Some white daisies and red ranunculus and berries and Voila! Finish with a patterned bag, which can bonus as a treat bag, and you are ready for the most delightful day!

We all love a good basket, now fill that with 2 of the best things in the world - flowers and kiddos - and you have yourself a jackpot costume!

Family Sunshine

We are suckers for a creative costume that involves the whole clan! And this one is so bright and happy it’s like a ray of sunshine….but also with a rainbow and a bunch of flowers and a little raincloud to boot! And Stephanie Hanna spells out how to get this so well on her blog. Now, we can imagine adding or even substituting a little bumble bee and butterfly to the mix!

Bouquet of Flowers

We had have to make a couple of these just to go out on the town! A happy little bunch of flowers galavanting around Minneapolis.

Grab a green hoodie, glue some blooms on top, wrap with some tulle and a bow and - bam - you are a flower bouquet just like that!

Cute Cactus Couple

Again, another easy costume using a cozy green sweatshirt! Cannot go wrong with that!

So head to your nearest Target - get a green sweatshirt, paper, headband, pipe cleaners, a glue gun and a few pink blooms and start at it.

Now, strike a pose and you are set!

Greenhouse Glam

Another darling winner using the base of a green dress - this has you ironing on some vinyl flowers, but you could just as easily glue on some blooms to get a similar effect. And watering can accessory with the green house as a hat (get it?!) finishes the look! The link also have a template for the cute house you can make as well…it could double as a doll house after the holiday as an added bonus!

Just when you think a sweet little bundle of joy can’t get cuter, you add some paper blooms and wrap them in kraft paper…
