Gratitude & Thinking of You Week: Rediscover the handwritten note
The Importance of Gratitude
This week, our team is taking time to think about gratitude. Gratitude has so many benefits for both the giver and receiver. We see this all the time in our industry as flowers are a gift centered around appreciation and care for others.
This week, from Monday, Sept. 23 to Sunday, Sept. 29, it’s “Thinking of You Week.” - a growing international movement. It’s organizers are seeking to spread the joy of sending and receiving hand-written notes. The only requirement to participate is that you send a hand-written note to someone new every day this week. Each member of the Haute House Studio team is participating, and we invite you to join us!
Why is gratitude important?
When you express gratitude towards someone else, they feel appreciated and respected. Think of how you feel when you receive thanks, and think of sharing that feeling with someone else.
And not only does gratitude make others feel good, it’s been scientifically proven that being grateful benefits you too! Here’s what we’ve been learning this week:
Gratitude improves mental health and strength: those who practice gratitude are more empathetic, less aggressive and frustrated, and even less stressed!
Gratitude improves self-esteem and encourages higher self-worth.
Practicing gratitude helps you sleep better and leads to fewer aches and pains.
Most of all, being grateful allows us to slow down and appreciate & celebrate the present. We spend so much of our time worrying about the future or thinking about the past, but gratitude helps us focus on what we have right now.
So, how can I practice gratitude?
Start a gratitude journal. Write down three things you are grateful for once a day or once a week, and see your attitude start to change.
Send flowers to someone as a reminder of how much you care about them. (Haute House Studio can help!)
